Just when you thought it was safe to start watching MTV again...

Have you been avoiding watching ABC's country music series Nashville, in which Connie Britton and Hayden Planetarium Panettiere get their cat-fight on in between twangy music numbers? Judging by the show's Nielsen numbers, you're not the only one. But here's some good news for the New Year! Now you can catch up on all the goings-on in the show's fictionalized version of Nashville courtesy of this hour-long clip show, "The Whole Story." Although, frankly, the first half of the season could just as easily be summarized in 30 minutes. The show really needs to pick up the pace, people.

Start your new year off... right? With Abby Lee Miller and the titular moms back for a third season. Despite the fun and creative Flashdance homage commercials, we're guessing the actual show will be more of the same nonsense that has kept us watching for the previous two seasons. Abby screaming at small children and mothers. The mothers screaming at each other. And maybe, if we're real lucky, Cathy acting like a total idiot. Oh, and perhaps some dancing thrown in for good measure.

It's the first New Year's Eve without Dick Clark and yet the special named after him (now permanently hosted by heir apparent Ryan Seacrest), still sounds like your best overall bet for televised entertainment tonight. Or you could always turn the TV off.

It seems like this season just started and now it's already over.... and those damned houses still aren't built. Over the course of this stint, we've mostly seen the kids not complain so much about living in Vegas. Some of them are also preparing to go away to college, which is where the focus lies for this season finale.

This series is a mash-up of American Idol, Fear Factor and Wipeout with Steve-O hosting it. It sounds like just about the worst thing in the entire world, but it is actually not as painful as we would have imagined. At times it can almost even be fun... if moronically stupid.

After this lackluster season filled with inane bickering that we couldn't care less about, these ladies are reuniting... for the one person out there who maybe cares. With eight women, we can barely remember half of their names most of the time, much less the internal conflicts that they have all had with each other. We just know that it resulted in a lot of bad boyfriend/spouses and a lot of crying and tears in Bimini in that ridiculous flower ritual.

It's no Teen Choice Awards, but it'll do.

Clearly, Doctor Who fans have been very, very good this year.

You know a show isn't very good when a new episode airs on Christmas Eve.
