Burn Notice is back with the Season 4 premiere, and USA is saying that it's a great time for new viewers to hop on. While they probably say that a lot, we'd have to agree with them this time, because it looks like Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) is returning to his old tricks, helping the helpless against dark forces and starting a new season-long story arc: finding out who burned him. Yes, that's what he's been doing since the beginning of the show, but this time he's actually met the guy who did the deed. All he needs to do now is figure out who he works for.

Burn Notice returns tonight, and it's Cagney & Lacey reunion time! That exclamation is just for decoration, of course, because who cares about a Cagney & Lacey reunion? I mean really. Tyne Daly guest-starring aside, what's important is that tonight, the Westen gang will be helping a recently widowed woman with a few violent con men who are on her case. Also, according to the preview video on the show's website, someone unrelated to that case lures Michael to a hotel room just to blow it up. Neat!

When last we saw Michael, he'd just been shot by his erstwhile partner, Jesse. Whether Jesse did it to save Michael (he killed the guy who was trying to kidnap him) or whether he did it because Michael is a lying liar who burns people, costing them their jobs and their lives, we don't know, but can't it be both? Now Michael is in the hospital, pretty banged up, and about to get emotionally banged up by a recuperative stay at mom's house. Prognosis: negative.

Ya gotta love Burn Notice's cliffhangers. At the end of Season 1, Michael drove his car into a mysterious tractor-trailer a la Spyhunter. Then, right before the mid-Season 2 break, a bomb went off as he opened the door to his lair. And at the end of Season 2, he dropped out of a helicopter hovering 100 feet above the ocean. So we can't wait to see what happens when he strolls ashore in Miami in tonight's Season 3 premiere, sans suit jacket and soaking wet. Will his old enemies immediately start trying to kill him now that he's not under the protection of the Management? Will Sam and Fi know where to find him, maybe give him a lift home?
