Almost a month into its run, the rebooted ThunderCats animated series seems to be doing well for Cartoon Network. Premiering to a solid (for cable) 2.4 million viewers and decent reviews from the audience that matters most -- fanboys -- the show seems likely to score a second-season order, which means more adventures of Lion-O, Tygra and Cheetara will probably be coming your way in 2012.

Hey, remember MadTV? Remember how, before it turned into pure sketch comedy, it had animated segments that were inspired by Mad magazine? Well, somebody apparently misses them, because they're back. The new Cartoon Network show Mad is a collection of animated shorts, including MadTV alumni "Spy vs. Spy" and vignettes based on the cartoon art of Don Martin, but with the addition of more parody products, movies, TV shows and Mad Moments of general ridiculousness.

This new show on the Cartoon Network isn't exactly groundbreaking. In fact, it's sort of X-Men Lite, but it's fun in a teen sort of way, and it has more of an interesting mystery in the first episode than No Ordinary Family has served up so far, which is saying something. So if you're looking for a combo of sci-fi, super powers and teen drama, this is better than the Wizards of Waverly Place, and you don't even have to watch Selena Gomez. Bonus!

Oh, you thought the Clone Wars were over? Just because Anakin Skywalker killed off a bunch of alien dudes at the end of Revenge of the Sith, and Obi-Wan Kenobi cut off his legs? It's not over! It's just getting started, man! Even though you know how it all ends, because you saw the last movie where the clone troopers shot all the Jedi, there's all this stuff that happened between the fifth and sixth -- I mean, second and third Star Wars movies that you didn't even see! Luckily, George Lucas has created a cartoon series (and toy line, and video game) inspired by old movie serials to tell the tale, and practically every other episode spotlights a different alien race, which is like pornography for Star Wars fans. Some of the aliens are new, but some are old favorites, like tonight's guest stars... the Twi'lek of Ryloth!
