It's been a year since My Life on the D-List was cancelled, but that hasn't stopped Kathy Griffin from doing her 14th stand-up special for Bravo. Not only that, but "Tired Hooker" (quoth Griffin: "I don't even know what to name them!") is actually her fourth Bravo show of the year. That is a lot of obnoxious material about terrible celebrities.

Here's the thing about this season of My Life on the D-List. Everything's been really egregiously staged and fake and everything -- I am completely aware of that -- but it's also been the funniest season ever of the show. Kathy and Lily Tomlin calling Jane Fonda in the middle of the night to ask her if she ever hooked up with Donald Sutherland during Klute? Great moment, lots of laughs! And it's been full of things like that. For every fake bombing at the Apollo (and really, show -- how stupid do you think we are?) there have been like two or three more Paula-Deen's-assistant-gets-inappropriately-drunks, you know? And I haven't missed Jessica in the slightest.

Tonight is the premiere of the sixth season of My Life on the D-List, so it's nice to see that Kathy's still working her ass off to deliver after all these years. I got to watch the episode a little in advance and I can tell you that there is Mariska Hargitay harassment, a lot of Maggie wine drinking, multiple scenes with Liza, and a funny bit in which Kathy attacks Chris Meloni (he's in on it, don't worry), as Kathy attempts to act on the scripted show she calls Law & Order: SUV. Should she be acting? No, of course not, but she tries anyway, and it's a disaster. And that's entertainment.

Kathy and Team Griffin are back tonight, and though many cool things are happening this season, like Bette Midler and T.I. and stuff, the biggest issue on everyone's minds is, "Oh no, no more Jessica!" As you may or may not know, she quit that bitch. This season Team Griffin is just Tiffany and Tom, which I'm actually fine with. Jessica was cool, because she'd sometimes call Kathy on her crap, but she didn't have much of a personality. I love Tiffany, and I love watching that long-suffering creeper Tom (who is also kind of endearing? My feelings regarding Tom are very complicated) get tortured by the girls. So I think it'll be okay! Tonight, Kathy befriends the Divine Miss M and tries to bribe her way to a Grammy nomination. Can't wait. Suck it, Jessica!
