This show is totally insane. I mean that in the best possible way, even though I sound like I'm a crazy person when I try and describe the plot of a given episode (or worse, the plot of the books) to someone. They always look at me strangely and then step away quietly. But that doesn't diminish my love for this cuckoo-bananas series.

It looks like all hell is going to break loose on the season finale of this addictive show, at least if malicious maenad Maryann has her way. She wants the still beating heart of one Sam Merlotte served up on a pretty little platter, preferably by Lafayette now that her manservant Karl has been killed. So that he who comes will either come (or not) and she can achieve her dream (or not). Hopefully this will be the end of the Maryann mayhem, one way or the other and maybe blissfully the end of Eggs too? One can only hope, I suppose. I'm not sure I want to see who, or what, hatches out of the egg. I'm already grossed out enough by the sculpture o' meat.

The wait is finally over. Seriously, I've needed a True Blood fix like a junkie needs a hit of V, and by lord, I've got it. While I spent the long, long, seemingly endless hiatus re-reading the third Sookie novel (to prepare, of course), and reading the latest book (things are going to get so nuts in a few years) and watching the webisodes on constant repeat, nothing could compare to actually seeing the premiere (along with episodes two and three), which I was lucky enough to get my hot little hands on last week. I won't spoil anything, as that would take all of the fun out of the show, but suffice it to say that there's enough naked vampire action in the first episode back to make any loyal fan happy.

To say that I'm excited for the second season would be an understatement. I'm really, really excited. I was interested last summer when this one came around because I had read the books and thought it would be fun, but I had no idea that I would be so addicted. Actually that's not entirely true because in the past I have become quite obsessed with shows about vampires... now that I think about it. I just originally thought that Anna Paquin was pretty much miscast (still sort of do, but I'm getting past it). And I was worried that they wouldn't keep to the stories, but they are.... sort of... at least to the spirit of Charlaine Harris' addictive supernatural mysteries and most of the big plot points (if changing a lot of details along the way), so I'm OK with that.
