If most literate films can be compared to a novel, I'm Not There is a collection of intertwined short stories -- but not obviously intertwined short stories. And to really "get" the movie, you basically have to have your Ph.D. in Bob Dylan Studies. I like Dylan as much as the next fan of intelligent songwriting, but I am no expert on the man or his music. So, if you're looking for a review like that, you have better options. In fact, if you're looking for any film review, there are better places to look.
