This image of a sculpted cat-person's head bears a strong resemblance to Panthro (albeit in an elderly, Edward James Olmos kind of way), and may very well be an outputted maquette of a computer-generated rendering from the new film. Or it could be the lifecast of the Sayer of the Law from The Island of Dr. Moreau. Either/or. The fact that there's also a new Thundercats logo floating around lends credence to the former theory -- the logo could be fan-made, but that "Geezer and the Firecat" head doesn't look like the work of amateurs.

In a December interview, director Jerry O'Flaherty spoke about the movie, saying: "It will be CG; the pipeline we're talking about using is different than what else is being done now...it's gonna be a fun movie that is true to the spirit of the old show, and I think the fans of the show are gonna be really happy." I'm sure T-Cat fans are giddy that the first Thundercats movie is the freshman directing effort of the art director for the Gears of War video game. (Yes, I know that Gears of War has made more money than most movies. I was just hoping Martin Scorcese would somehow be involved.)
