The Long Island-based Mingling Mom organization, which is exactly what it sounds like, bestowed Dina with their first-ever "Top Mom" award at the Carlyle on the Green club in Bethpage, New York. I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that, according to the Radar article, "the sole criteria for winning was being a Long Island native and the mother of someone famous." I'm thinking they should maybe come up with more stringent guidelines, or altogether halt the practice of handing out awards to Stage Moms. They don't need any more encouragement.

Dina's most famous daughter, who hasn't shot a movie since last year's I Know Who Killed Me, (though has a couple of films in pre-production) is mostly famous for being sent to rehab before she could legally drink, being involved in car chase (as the chaser) with cocaine in her pocket, and as recently as Tuesday, stealing some poor rich girl's $11,000 mink coat. Dina defended Lindsay at the event, saying "Lindsay is a wonderful and loving and caring girl who is completely misunderstood. People forget that she's only 21. I mean what were you like when you were 21?" Well lady, I wasn't snorting coke and stealing fur outerwear, that's for damn sure.

The woman hasn't yet let fame corrupt her other daughter, Ali, who's currently shooting the R.L. Stine adaptation Mostly Ghostly, but it's only a matter of time. Dina Lohan is a Something Mother of the Year, and I leave it up to you to fill in the blank.
