With all the new horror flicks in various stages of production, it's like an all-you-can-eat buffet for scary movie fans. But if you gorge on all the grisly offerings, are you going to feel sick to your stomach? Or will you be ready for another heaping serving in an hour or two? Here, then, are two more additions to the macabre menu to help you plan out your horror dining experience.

As reported previously in the Moviefile, the 1981 slasher movie My Bloody Valentine is getting a brand-new remake in 3-D. Recent news in the Hollywood Reporter has Kerr Smith (Justice) signing up to join his fellow Dawson's Creek alum Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) in this modern bloodbath. (Remember before Ackles was kickass Dean Winchester, when he was un-kickass "CJ" on the Creek?) According to the report, Smith is starring as Axle Palmer, the husband to Jaime King's Sarah and "nemesis" to Ackles' Tom. That's all the information there is about the character Smith is playing, but aren't you kind of already hoping he'll be killed just for having a name like "Axle"? Aside from Axel Foley and maybe (maybe) Axl Rose, that name seems like it's just about guaranteed to earn you an introduction to a chainsaw.

In other horror movie news, Variety reports that director Warren Zide has taken on The Harvard Zombie Massacre. Zide, who you may remember for making you curious about apple pies back in the original American Pie movie, has bought the comedy-horror spec script from new writers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit. The plot has Harvard "overrun by the undead," and its smartypants students have to fend them off. I can remember studying for a few finals that made me feel like one of the undead. Is there really that much difference between brain-dead students in reeking sweats and a horde of mindless, decaying zombies?
