Either L.A. audiences either really enjoyed watching 63-year-old Ben Kingsley make out with 21-year-old Mary-Kate Olsen, or The Wackness is a legitimately good movie: its director Josh Levine won the audience award at the Los Angeles Film Festival.
For a little perspective on the Kingsley-Olsen age difference, he won an Oscar for Gandhi in 1983, three years before she was born and two years before she began her tenure on Full House, which she shared with her twin, Ashley, of course.
The Wackness wasn't the only film awarded at the festival, of course: Man on Wire, The Poker House, Anvil! and others were lauded yesterday. But The Wackness is the most high-profile of the bunch, thanks to that much-buzzed-about kiss.
Kingsley, now 64, really does care about young Hollywood types, though, and apparently not just when he's kissing them. He recently expressed his anger at Hollywood for exploiting young actors, leading them to drug use or other crazy antics.
