In the human being categories (as opposed to the Michael Bay categories), the perennially 22-year-old Johnny Depp bagged two prizes: Best Comedic Performance (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End) and Best Villain (Sweeney Todd). Obviously, MTV's voters didn't see Hot Fuzz, or else Simon Pegg and Timothy Dalton would have snagged those prizes, but that's fine -- it's not like I saw Never Back Down or Step Up 2: The Streets, which won Best Kiss and Best Fight, not necessarily in that order. Ellen Page won Best Female Performance for Juno, Will Smith won Best Male Performance for I Am Legend and there was no prize given this year for Best Dog Performance. Iron Man won the Best Movie of the Summer So Far award, its early release date requiring the renaming of the Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet award, at the last minute and at great expense.

Other highlights of the show: Rainn Wilson naked, Robert Downey Jr. hitting Jack Black in the nuts, Adam Sandler singing a song about himself and Seth Rogen and James Franco teaching our nation's children about the dangers of (fake) marijuana.
