That's because you're not a kid. Ben 10: Race Against Time was Cartoon Network's live-action adaptation of their popular cartoon Ben 10, about a young boy with a device that can turn him into 10 different aliens. The movie, directed by Winter, only aired on television, but it pulled in 13 million viewers over the Thanksgiving weekend last year. (For the record, those numbers are non-heinous.) Since, then, Ben has grown up in his new series, Ben 10: Alien Force, and now CN has asked Winter to direct the live-action adaptation of that, as well.

Winter's partner in crime on this project will be, not Ted "Theodore" Logan, nor even Race Against Time writer Mitch Watson, but rather new writer John Turman. Turman wa a producer on the Christian Slater skateboarding movie Gleaming the Cube, which is awesome, but he also had a screenplay credit on Ang Lee's Hulk and a story credit on Fantastic Four 2 -- not the greatest track record, but probably fine for a kids' superhero movie. However, we may want to thank our lucky stars that the Iron Fist movie he apparently wrote never got off the ground...
