Check Out the Big Brain on Ed

Sometimes you get a nice slow one pitched across the plate. To promote Meet Dave, the new Eddie Murphy movie opening July 11th, Twentieth Century-Fox is using a 15-foot replica of Murphy's head. The 3-ton noggin has made appearances in Washington D.C., and should be in Times Square by the time you read this. The latest proof that all marketing people should be tarred and feathered is also interactive. No, it doesn't scream profanities! This is the PG-rated Ed-DEE, safe for kids and blue-haired old ladies! It's interactive because, as the newscaster on this site explains in the web video, you can actually climb into the replica of Eddie Murphy's head. Why on Earth would you want to do that, you ask? So you can find out what the hell Eddie was thinking when he made Norbit.

Meet Dave is directed by Brian Robbins, who is no stranger to heads, having once been a classmate on Head of the Class. Robbins also directed Norbit, costing Murphy the Oscar he should have received for Dreamgirls and causing me further embarrassment by using my doppelganger, Cuba Gooding Jr., in yet another stupendously awful role. The plot has an alien ship that looks like Eddie Murphy coming to Earth. The ship is piloted by a tiny Eddie Murphy, a plot device no doubt appreciated by the man who once said about G.I. Joe on Saturday Night Live, "if somebody shrunk me from 11 inches to 4 inches, I'd be pissed off too." Tiny Murphy pilots Big Murphy from the ship's head, leading us full circle to the Zardoz update currently scaring the shit out of people on the street.

What strikes me oddest about this story isn't that nobody thought of all the B.J. jokes one could get out of this development. What gets me is that somebody greenlit an Eddie Murphy science fiction movie after he made The Adventures of Pluto Nash. One should be thankful that Paul Thomas Anderson didn't use this same "giant anatomy" promotion when he made Boogie Nights, nor Fox back in the Eighties when they produced Dolly Parton's biggest movie, 9 to 5. However, if this is a success, God knows what huge star body part you'll be passing next on the street.

Fedup, if you want to blame someone about the lack of pienson funds, start where it began. You lay the entire pienson fund issues at Christiee28099s feet and thate28099s purposely misrepresentative. If you choose to believe teachers are being bashed, then you choose to falsely look at the situation. I have never heard teachers as a whole bashed once from Christie. I've heard him criticize the NJEA. I've heard him talk about reform. I've heard him criticize individuals in the system, but I never once heard him bash teachers as group. Infact, Ie28099ve heard him compliment teachers and tell them they should be just as angry about what their union is doing. The videos released about the convention are more of a show about the state of the organization then it is teachers in general.I am sick and tired of this mentality that we have to coddle teachers, praise them like they are Mother Teresa while not being real about the issues that teachers and the public face alike. If you are a good teacher, you have no reason to feel bashed . As for what you claim is Christiee28099s demeaning style of politics, you should feel more demeaned by Former Governor Corzine who thought the people were too stupid to see what was going on and would still vote for him if he spent enough money, catered to unions and took money from other funds to apply them falsely to other avenues. Thate28099s who you should feel demeaned by. But not someone like Christie whoe28099s style of politics is honesty is raw and not always pretty. But if you truly do feel more demeaned by Christiee28099s politics and not Corzinee28099s, then apparently you want more of the same; coddling, minimal reforms if any, happy feel good comments with no real change, wrong figures being passed to the public to save grace save that to the sweater-vest we had in office last year.
