The Magdalena, about a female descendant of Mary Magdalene who's sworn to protect the church while wearing chaps and a thong, may not have a teaser poster yet, but it does have two stars: former dancer Jenna Dewan (Step Up, The Grudge 2) and former pop star (and comic book movie regular) Luke Goss (Blade 2, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, the upcoming Tekken). That's more than Witchblade can say, since her teaser poster features Generic Naked Girl Number 17. (Hopefully, more news will come out at this year's Comic-Con, where the Dewan-Goss bomb was just dropped, but I'm not holding my breath, even if Generic Naked Girl Number 17 is.)

All joking aside, it's doubtful the two films will actually compete with each other, since Top Cow will act as producer on both, and, if they're successful, may someday want to do a crossover. (The two have crossed paths in the comics several times.) There's also a movie in development about sexy male Top Cow character/video-game star The Darkness, so it's entirely possible that he may want to get in on this three-way, as well. Wait, what?
