In what I hope is a continuing trend of licensing geek properties for sneakers, Puma is making lace-free sneakers based on the classic 1980s film The Goonies. Why, exactly, I'm not sure, as the movie is over 20 years old (why not Pineapple Express sneakers?), but a rumor recently surfaced that Goonies 2 would be a big, tentpole film for Warner Brothers in 2010. Whether they get the original Goondockers to come back and play the parents of a new crew or not (Josh Brolin is gonna be pricey), I will be first in line to see that. ...By which I mean, I will plan to be first in line, but I will probably not wake up early enough on the day tickets go on sale to accomplish that goal.

Speaking of which -- hey! Reebok! Wake up! I know you had those Tron sneakers a while back, but you need to get cracking on the new TR2N line! Word to your motherboard!
