Let Sleeping Wolverines Lie

If there's one thing I hate more than dolls, it's talking dolls. I'm not afraid of them; I just loathe them. For two days in a row, there was news in the Moviefile about talking dolls. And I'm counting those garden gnomes, because, well... shudder. So, clearly the universe hates me. And just to kick me when I'm down, now comes news from Hollywood Elsewhere that the Powers That Be are trying to screw around with X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The problem? The director and the producer are now arguing over the "look" of the movie. Hasn't most of it already been filmed? They showed footage at Comic-Con, for crying out loud, and now they're arguing about how they want it to look? I guess I should just be glad they haven't changed the lead character into a talking Wolverine doll.

It's taken a few days for the news to percolate down through the media outlets, but Hollywood Elsewhere is saying that the information is "second-hand but reliably sourced." Director Gavin Hood went into the project wanting something on the "dark, dinghy [sic] and somber side" but Fox co-chairman and CEO Tom Rothman had one of the sets repainted while the director was away, resulting in a "brighter and less downish look." According to the report, "Hood was utterly surprised when he got back to the set and saw what had been done."

The Guardian speculates that "Hood wants a moody superhero flick in the vein of The Dark Knight, while Rothman favours a bouncy Iron Man style blockbuster." I love both those movies, but I think I'm with the director on this one. Look at the promo shot that's already been released. That dude is not bouncy.

Playing tug-of-war with Wolverine is going to get someone cut pretty badly. Unfortunately, if they don't get this mess resolved, that's likely to be the fans.

above about residents henraig the truth. What do you think about an incumbent township committee candidate who allowed his county party committee send out a mailer claiming he held average tax increases to less than 2% per year , when county certified tax documentation clearly proves the average tax increase during his tenure was actually 70% higher? Would this meet your standard of residents henraig the truth? Thanks.
