There are other rumors getting the smackdown in the headlines today. Dark Horizons broke the news that not only is the rumor that Quentin Tarantino wanting Britney Spears for his Faster Pussycat Kill Kill remake is patently untrue, but the kind of cool rumor floating about that Linda Hamilton would make a cameo in a flashback in the upcoming Terminator Salvation is also a big fat lie. I won't admit that I'm not glad to hear about the Britney rumor turning out to be false -- just to save ourselves from the horrible title-riff headlines when the movie comes out and also when Spears suffers another inevitable break with reality. The Linda Hamilton cameo would have been really awesome, though. And I'm not the only one to think so.

Upon hearing the rumors themselves, Hamilton's representation have started putting out feelers to see if such a cameo would be possible, saying "[Linda] would be very interested in hearing about participating in the new film." Being that she's been doing some TV movies lately (and not a lot of those), I'm not surprised. I kind of hope something comes of it, I have to say. Seeing as how all the Terminator movies have had at least one original cast member strung throughout has added a certain authenticity that the franchise could probably use now that James Cameron is nowhere in the picture. In fact, putting Linda Hamilton in it is the only way I'd actually go see the new Terminator flick. Okay, that's another big fat lie. I'll totally go see it anyway.
