When I first heard about the (admittedly far-fetched) possibility of Cher in the next movie, I thought it was a terrible idea. But the idea kind of grew on me. A sort of sadder, faded Cruella DeVil brand of Catwoman certainly couldn't be worse than Halle Berry's 2004 turn in the leather bodysuit, could it? And it might even be an interesting change of pace. Who else might they cast in the part? Julie Newmar (none other than TV's original Catwoman herself) said that "she has knowledge" of Angelina Jolie wanting the part. Jolie, who is appropriately gorgeous and slinky and even has the backing of a porn star, is almost a little too obvious for the role. Where's the suspense? The surprise? She's already played a cat, anyway.

Actually, now that I've been looking up all this information, I say forget Cher. Forget Angelina. They're both way too young. Check out Julie Newmar wearing the cat gear in 2001, nearly seventy years old. That's some old school feline prowess.
