When The Incredible Hulk arrives on DVD and Blu-ray this October 21, home movie enthusiasts and will have several options to choose from. Collider has reported details about the extra footage that will be available. For those living in the past with mere DVD players (that would be me), there's the standard release, which will contain a little over 13 minutes of scenes deleted from the theatrical release. You can also choose to shell out the extra bucks for a three-disc collection that has almost 30 minutes of deleted footage. But if you've upgraded to a Blu-ray player, an incredible 44 extra minutes will be available to you.
That sounds like a lot, but it falls short of director Louis Leterrier's to include over 70 minutes of bonus footage. What in the world was the Hulk doing for over an hour that was important enough to film, but expendable enough to cut from the final product? Painting his toenails a complimentary shade of forest green? Going shopping for extra stretchy, rip-proof trousers? [Nope, that was in the final cut! - Zach] Practicing different muscle poses? I'll guess we'll find out in a few weeks.
Fans know of at least one scene that was cut from the film -- not because of its mundane expendability, but because Marvel and others associated with the project considered it too dark. The frozen body of Captain America appears in a scene where Bruce Banner decides to kill himself, according to a report from FirstShowing.net. Will that scene be included? I think it's a pretty safe bet, but whether it's included as bonus footage or as a "director's cut" remains to be seen. Maybe there's a fourth, even Hulkier version waiting to be released somewhere down the line.
