Oh, Danny Boyle, the Pipes, the Pipes Are Calling You can learn a lot from Danny Boyle's movies. From 28 Days Later, there's an important lesson to be learned about the dangers of drinking too much sugary soda and the benefits of irradiating fruit. From Sunshine, viewers learned not to name their solar mission spaceships after mythological Greek characters who died because they flew too close to the sun. Hell, I learned more from Trainspotting than I did from a straight decade of being told to "Just say no!" Now, if Boyle gets his way, fans might get to learn how to sing and dance, because, as the maverick director tells MTV, he "would love to do a musical." What a coincidence. I'd love for him to do a musical, too!

A musical might seem like an odd choice, considering his past work, but Boyle calls it "the most difficult thing to do as a film [but] it's the Holy Grail if you can do it [right]." He isn't revealing what the subject matter or style would be, but according to the report, "Boyle admitted he's actually already taken some preliminary steps to develop a musical with the English band I Am Kloot."

This toe-tapping news comes very soon after Boyle also told MTV that he may direct another 28 Days Later follow-up. He doesn't give specifics on the plot, saying only that he has an idea that "might be silly really."

Hmm. How silly are we talking, here? A bunch of the "infected" did wind up in Paris at the end of the sequel. Could enraged, flesh-tearing singers and dancers be on the horizon? Would they be any more annoying than Parisian street mimes?
