Scarlett Johansson Weds; Millions Cry Out in Agony

Scarlett Johansson, 23, and Ryan Reynolds, 31, wed secretly over the weekend in British Columbia (Reynolds is from Vancouver). Apparently, Johansson decided to define "not rushing into it" as a little more than a month, since she said in early August that she's only 23 and "There's no reason to rush into it," adding that "we're just taking it easy. And no big plan yet." Then again, it was a SECRET wedding (there has been no confirmation of the actual wedding location, for instance), so maybe that was part of her diversion tactic.

Or maybe Reynolds was rushing it, so that it didn't end up like his last engagement (to fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette), which went on for more than two years before they called it off. (On the other hand, Johansson and Reynolds were only engaged since May.) Or maybe both Reynolds and Johansson wanted to tie the knot before The Spirit comes out this Christmas and ScarJo's career takes a nosedive. Although she certainly puts it all out on display in the new trailer, the film's dialogue leads a little bit to be desired, if lines like this are the norm:

"'What are you?' That's what the woman asked me. Am I some sort of ghost? I still move! I still breathe! I'm still alive!"
"The Spirit thinks he can't stay hurt. Well, I'm getting El Spirito dead while I still can."
"Something's going down here. Could be big -- Octopus big!"
"I'm the Octopus -- I've got eight of everything!"
"She got a thing for the bling."
"Somebody get me a tie, and it sure as hell better be red!"
"Is every damn woman in this damn hellhole out of her damn mind?"
"I'm gonna kill you all kinds of dead."
