Dark Knight Screenwriter Calls B.S. on Batman Sequel Rumors

Like much of the country commenting on the most recent Presidential debate, The Dark Knight screenwriter David Goyer is calling bullshit. Specifically on all the rumors swirling about Batman 3 (wouldn't that be Batman 3.2?). So, according to Goyer, that means:

- Christopher Nolan has not signed on.

- Pre-production will not start next year.

- Any and all of the casting rumors you've heard, from Cher or Angelina Jolie as Catwoman to Johnny Depp as the Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin, nothing you've heard is true. Furthermore, there hasn't yet been talk of villains for the next film, much less casting work.

In an interview with MTV, Goyer claims that Nolan is taking a long, well-deserved vacation and "wants to purge himself." Which, hopefully doesn't mean a 3-month stint at Promises Malibu for an eating disorder, but rather a nice, long, average, everyday break to distance himself from all things Bat.

So there. There may very well be no Batman 3 at all! I mean, why would they be talking about another movie? It's not like the box office was huge or anything. Or like there's any Oscar buzz. Or like anybody even remembers that it was in the theaters this summer. Why are you idiots even talking about it? Get a grip and stop spreading the bullshit, people!

Or don't, as Goyer finds all the speculation "amusing." I'm a sarcastic shit who could go all day long, so don't take me into account. So, in further Gossip According to Goyer, "If and when [Chris is] ready to talk, we'll talk," for all those keeping score. Put that in your Bat-pipe and smoke it!
