And just how does he plan to do it? Well, in 8 hours, in three movies, filmed and released back to back (a year apart) in a story that Millar likened to "Michael Corleone in the Godfather films, the entire story from beginning to end, you see where he starts, how he becomes who he becomes, and where that takes him." Which, particularly with the not-so-great showing of Bryan Singer's Superman Returns in 2006, sound less like shooting for the moon, and more like shooting for Krypton. Nevertheless, Millar said that the problem with Singer's version was "like releasing Star Wars in '77, The Empire Strikes Back in '80 and then waiting 28 years to release Return of the Jedi, it wasn't relevant." I sort of get his point. My problem comes in when Millar states that he's working closely with a "big Hollywood action director," but refuses to state who exactly it is. The grandiose plans and non-specific "big name" contacts make him sound like every other guy in the line at my neighborhood Starbucks.
