According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Farrelly screenplay has been divided into 20-minute segments, designed to approximate the shorts that have been the bane of wives and girlfriends the world over. (The Stooges have an overwhelmingly male audience.) The first segment takes place at an orphanage, where we see the three young Stooges terrorizing nuns before they get kicked out. While the premise sounds ambitious, the results could be disastrous, especially if you aren't a fan of the Farrelly Brothers' body of work. (There's Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber and Kingpin have become classics; Stuck On You and Shallow Hal, not so much.) Still, if done right, it could at least be as creatively successful as Dennis Dugan's 1992 movie Brain Donors, which manages to successfully capture the energy and mania of a Marx Brothers movie, with John Turturro in the Groucho role. The movie made less than a million dollars at the box office, but it's funny as hell.
