Four Christmases somehow managed to stay at the top of the box office for a second week in a row, while Twilight actually moved up the chart, from number three last week to number two. How ever did that happen? Oh, right, virtually nothing opened this weekend in wide release except for a comic book sequel with a very limited fanbase, Punisher: War Zone (which made only $4 million to come in eighth).

Whether it was our post-Thanksgiving holiday mood or our nation's collective love of Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn, moviegoers added another $18.2 million to Four Christmases' bottom line over the weekend, in what was a surprisingly lucrative three-day run> considering the lack of openings and, you know, the economy.

The only other new release to crack the top ten was Cadillac Records, which squeaked in to ninth place with $3.5 million, opening on 686 screens. For comparison, Punisher: War Zone opened on 2,508.

The top ten:

2. Twilight, $13,197,000 ($138,552,000 in three weeks)
3. Bolt, $9,696,000 ($79,281,000 in three weeks)
4. Australia, $7,000,000 ($30,869,000 in two weeks)
5. Quantum Of Solace, $6,600,000 ($151,468,000 in four weeks)
6. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, $5,100,000 ($165,675,000 in five weeks)
7. Transporter 3, $4,500,000 ($25,381,000 in two weeks) 8. Punisher: War Zone, $4,000,000 (first week)
9. Cadillac Records, $3,500,000 (first week)
10. Role Models, $2,622,000 ($61,665,000 in five weeks)
