Now that that great TV show Pushing Daisies, is, well, pushing daisies with no new episodes on the schedule and no resolution for the characters or story, what are fans of the show to do? Well, if show regular Kristin Chenoweth is right, all they might have to do is walk down to the video store and rent the movie. In an interview with TV Guide, Chenoweth claims that series runner Bryan Fuller is aiming to make a direct-to-DVD movie that would wrap up the series' various storylines.
"It would wrap up a lot of the unanswered questions that people will have once they finally air our final episodes," said the actress about the possible movie. Not that the final episodes are on the schedule yet. Nevertheless, giving a bit more credence to the idea is the fact that this wouldn't be the first time a TV show of Bryan Fuller's got some resolution in straight-to-DVD movie form. Dead Like Me, the 2003-2004 Showtime series (and one of the best shows to ever air on television, if you ask me) has a straight-to-DVD follow-up movie coming out next month called Life After Death. And though Fuller wasn't involved in that project, it sets a decent precedent.
Though Chenoweth said that Fuller likely wouldn't do the movie "without the six main characters," Chenoweth has said that she's on board and believes her other Daisies co-stars and guest stars would be, as well. "We have certain guest stars that are standouts that we'd want back," she said. "But he [Fuller] has such a great idea for it... We all want to." So the idea is there and so is the desire... maybe Pushing Daisies isn't pushing daisies after all.

Oh please, oh please let this come true. Even if it is the end, what a beautiful end it will be. And an end we fans and the show deserves!

*Crosses fingers and toes*
*Wonders where are all the wish fountains in the world so I can wish*
One word: musical. Actually, I don't know if anyone the other actors besides Ellen Greene and Kristen Chenowith can sing, but even if they just have them, that would be enough.
Also, this post really belongs more in the telefile blog. Or at least it should be posted both places.
