Trailers Without Pity: Where the Wild Things Are

Ohmygodohmygodohmygod. If someone had told me that a movie would come along and combine my love of children's books, Spike Jonze and giant monsters, I would have punched them in the face. So when I first saw the trailer for Jonze's new film Where the Wild Things Are, which I've been seeing teaser images of for nearly a year, I practically wept. The Super Gallaga Brothers aren't crying exactly, but Omar and Pablo were moved enough by the trailer to turn it into one of their patented "Trailers Without Pity" videos, breaking it down for the audience and explaining why they think it has the potential to be genius or a Cat in the Hat-level disaster. Check it out after the jump.

I had an English professor who wrote a paper comparing Where the Wild Things Are to Heart of Darkness. It was intense. I've not been able to view either book the same way since.

I'm still going to see this movie, though.

I know your "professor" and he is a schmuck. He has been divulging of that literary comparison for nearly 12 years and has recently submitted to several publications that he is some immediate literary genius. I know him. He's not a genius. Don't idolize him. Please.

Eve...

I don't idolize HER. But I do imagine we're not talking about the same person here.

I cannot stand that Gaga brother crap. Lamest commentary ever. The trailer looks doofy, but their video is dumb. For such an awesome website, the videos on this site can be so stupid.

Thanks, "Cho." We're not related to Lady Gaga, in case you're wondering.

We appreciate your delicious page views!
