Finally, the literary adaptation we've waited years for! The fantastic imagery! The unspeakable terror! The parallels to our own world! That's right, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry is finally out on Blu-Ray! The long, hard, gay-innuendo-filled wait is over! Also, some other stuff came out.
Watchmen: Director's Cut Two-Disc Special Edition
There is a theatrical cut of this movie available, but why get the 162-minute version when you can get a whopping 186 minutes of dystopic supermen? That's a whole extra brutal murder you could be watching, bringing it that much closer to the experience of reading the graphic novel. ...Of course, there will apparently be a collector's edition out by the holidays, with the entire "Black Freighter" cartoon edited into the film, but that's a long ways off. Besides, who knows if it will come with a model Owlship?
Coraline: Two-Disc Collector's Edition
We're not saying that this nightmarish stop-motion adaptation of Neil Gaiman's work by Nightmare Before Christmas director Henry Selick is the best thing for a very young child to watch, but we're sure it won't scar them too badly. After all, I saw The Dark Crystal when I was five, and I turned out all right. However, you may not want to watch the 3-D version unless you live in a black hole.
Pushing Daisies: The Complete Second Season
Rest in peace, Pushing Daisies. ...Then come back from the dead and throw pies at the houses of those who ordered your cancellation. Sweet, boysenberry-flavored revenge!
Psych: The Complete Third Season
Woe to he who celebrates the coming of the new season of Psych, for as it comes, so too shall come the new season of Monk. No backsies!
Robot Chicken: Star Wars - Episode II
Better than the actual Episode II!
Visioneers
I had no idea what this movie was, so we read the description. "George Washington Winsterhammerman (Zach Galifianakis) lives an ordinary life. He has a wife, a kid, a house and a boat. Every day, George gets in his minivan and goes to work as a level three Tunt at the Jeffers Corporation, the largest and most profitable corporation in the history of mankind. It is an utterly comfortable life, but when people around George begin exploding, he fears he might be next." By the time I finished reading that, I had already somehow ordered two copies. I am afraid to read it again.
The Mighty Boosh: Season 1, Season 2 & Season 3
This surreal British comedy series stars cast members from The IT Crowd and has been compared to The Young Ones. That is all you need to know in order to buy all three seasons immediately.
Prison Break: The Final Break
Somehow, this feature-length episode of Prison Break has broken free from the confines of network television, possibly by using tattoos of Fox's summer schedule tattooed on its DVD case. It must be captured and destroyed at all costs.
The Great Buck Howard
John Malkovich plays a stage hypnotist. Tom Hanks plays Colin Hanks' dad. Emily Blunt is in it, still failing to capitalize on the acclaim she received for The Devil Wears Prada three years ago. Someday, Emily Blunt. Someday.
Jon & Kate Plus Eight: Season 4, Vol. 2 - The Big Move
Is there really any point anymore?
Messengers 2: The Scarecrow
If you can't get Kristen Stewart to be in your sequel, you're gonna have to add a little nudity. Something to keep in mind, Twilight producers.
