Extract
We called Mike Judge's Idiocracy one of our favorite sci-fi movies of the decade, and his Office Space would have been one of our top films of the decade if it hadn't come out in 1999. Sadly, Extract didn't make the cut on our best-of-the-year list, but it's still good for a few laughs, as Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Ben Affleck, Mila Kunis, Justin Long and J.K. Simmons are all generally dishonest with each other. DVD extras are slim, but a featurette on what makes a Mike Judge film should be interesting.

District 9 (2-Disc Edition)
Man's inhumanity to alien stands in for man's inhumanity to man in this sci-fi allegory set in South Africa. To paraphrase Sgt. Murtaugh in Lethal Weapon 2, "Free District 9, you dumb son of a bitch!"

(500) Days of Summer
The adorableness is set on "stun" as Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel fall in and out of love in this disjointed, nonlinear tale of young romance. Now with a Hall & Oates-inspired musical number.

All About Steve
If only Sandra Bullock hadn't released this movie this year, she could have batted 1,000. But, as the song goes, two out of three ain't bad.

Beyond a Reasonable Doubt
I can tell you, beyond a reasonable doubt, that I will never watch this movie.
