The Losers (DVD/Blu-ray Combo)
This comic book adaptation may have lost out at the box office, but considering that the cast is made up of cast members from Watchmen, Fantastic Four, Thor, Captain America, Star Trek, Heroes, Scott Pilgrim, Lost Boys and Avatar, I think it's pretty much geek law that you have to buy it. The Runaways
Anyone tired of watching Kristen Stewart waver between two less-than-ideal boyfriends should go rent this rock-n-roll biopic, in which she buys a leather jacket, drinks a lot of alcohol and makes out with Dakota Fanning. Also featuring an insane Michael Shannon. (Also available via Movies on Demand.)

2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams (Unrated)
The Southern town that needs to kill 2001 Northerners as payback for the Civil War decides to go out and find new victims, putting their carnival on the road. It's too bad that the man who played the "son of a hundred maniacs," Robert Englund, is not in this sequel to the 2005 original, but a positive quote from John Landis has to be a good sign, right?

Cop Out
What an apt title! This is the first movie Kevin Smith directed that he did not write, and it works out about as well as you'd think, unless you thought it would be a good thing. Originally called A Couple of Dicks, which is another apt title. (Also available via Movies on Demand.)

Mother
While it has no giant creatures born from the polluted depths of a river in South Korea, this film by The Host director Bong Joon-Ho, about a mother determinedly trying to clear her handicapped son of murder, has been getting rave reviews.

On Demand: Exam
In this British film, eight applicants for a high-powered job are put in a room and told to pass a test. Only problem is, their tests are blank. Now they need to figure out what the hell the real test is. (Available via IFC Festival Direct on July 23)

On Demand: Life During Wartime
A sequel/variation on director Todd Solondz's Happiness, starring Paul Reubens, Ally Sheedy, Allison Janney and Ciaran Hinds. (Available via IFC On Demand and in theaters July 23)
