Inception: The Prequels and Sequels We Wanna See

Spoiler alert! We're about to talk about the very mysterious and open-to-interpretation ending of this weekend's number-one movie, Inception! As everyone who saw it knows (and they likely cannot remove the image from their brain), Dom Cobb's metal top, which remains upright in dream worlds, had yet to fall over. Does that mean he's still in a dream world? Or was it just a really good spin? Sometimes you get a really good one, and they take a while to fall down. Well, whether he's awake or dreaming, we want to see what happens next. And even before! A prequel comic shows what happened on the Cobol Job and the cast is already hemming and hawing about a sequel, so we figured we'd come up with some of our own. Here are some ideas we'd like to plant in Christopher Nolan's head.

Inception 2: Encephalic Boogaloo
Now on the straight and narrow, Cobb has a job trying to break a businessman's daughter free from the drug scene, and he needs to implant the idea of getting help into the girl's head. With the help of forger Eames, architect Ariadne and newfound dream composer Strike (Adrien Brody) and choreographer Choice (Jaden Smith), Cobb re-creates the bangin'est dance club in New York City in order to get Eames close enough to the girl to bust some moves and work his magic.

Inception 3-D: The Return of Mal
In our nausea-inducing threequel, the U.S. government needs the idea of nuclear disarmament implanted in a foreign dictator's mind, so the team chases him through such diverse dreamscapes as the tallest building in the world and a cruise ship in the middle of the North Atlantic, with the ghost of Mal hot on their heels. Also, each dizzying 3-D shot will be designed to induce vertigo and/or seasickness in viewers, hopefully making them throw up.

Formulation
College student Dom Cobb is entranced by the young woman in his biology class, but when he walks her home, he finds out that her father is his architecture professor! When the professor lets him in on some theoretical experimentation he's been doing, Dom jumps on board, advancing it at a rapid pace and helping refine the device that allows people to share dreams. But when he and his girlfriend Mal take the device for a test drive, neither is prepared for what they'll find inside their own minds. A terrifying descent into madness made slightly less terrifying by the fact that we know how it ends.

Extraction
Dom Cobb is out of the extraction business, but when he gets a call from the man who gave him his life back, he has no choice but to help. It seems someone has stolen something from Saito's mind and erased the traces of what it was, so Cobb needs to go inside and look around the dream crime scene to see if he can figure out what it is. When he's still unsuccessful, he and Arthur need to run down the perp and bring him into a dream to find out what he knows. (Apparently, if you're in a dream and you hit someone with a dream telephone book, it doesn't leave any marks.)

Freddy vs. Cobb: An Inception on Elm Street
To extract the location of a serial killer's latest victim, Cobb re-creates the man's hometown in a dream and brings him inside. But once he's in, some unseen, malevolent force begins to exert its influence on the dreamscape, twisting it into something nightmarish, and Cobb realizes that the killer brought something with him, and that something's name is Fred Krueger.
