Date Night
When I went to see this, I was only picturing how funny it would be if Liz Lemon and Michael Scott went on a date together, and not paying attention to the fact that this movie was being directed by Shawn Levy. The man is responsible for two Night at the Museum films, one Pink Panther, one Cheaper by the Dozen, one episode of Birds of Prey and five episodes of Animorphs. He's like a walking Kids' Choice award. (Also available via Movies on Demand.)

Death at a Funeral
Someone should put together a screening of both versions of Death at a Funeral, but project them both simultaneously on the same screen. Or, simply do a back-to-back screening where the vocal tracks were swapped. I'm anticipating hilarity. (Also available via Movies on Demand.)

La Mission
After the cancellation of The Cleaner, in which Benjamin Bratt plays a recovering drug addict, he went on to play a recovering alcoholic in this movie, and got some of the best reviews of his career. And to think, he was so close this entire time!

The Joneses
As in "keeping up with the Joneses." David Duchovny and Demi Moore play undercover lifestyle marketers in an affluent community. Because we all want to be just like the guy who got treated for a sex addiction and the woman who married the kid from Punk'd.

Under the Mountain
This New Zealand fantasy-horror remake starring Sam Neill may not have the greatest special effects in the world, but compared to the original New Zealand TV movie, it looks like Avatar.

Crumb (Criterion Edition)
Anyone who thinks that comic books are all about superheroes should watch this and American Splendor to get the real story. Of course, now you'll probably think that all comic creators are socially maladjusted individuals. Eh, fair trade.

On Demand: The Horde
I can't come up with anything funnier than this description from the website: "In order to avenge the murder of one of their own by a group of ruthless gangsters, four corrupt cops go on a rampage against the mob responsible. A horde of bloodthirsty cannibal zombies complicates matters." The zombies are an obstacle to their mission of revenge. (Available via IFC Festival Direct on August 11)
