Despicable Me (4-Disc Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD Combo)
A very dry sense of humor and some unusual character and vehicle designs make this supervillain comedy a strange breed. After all, not only does this set give you the 3-D version of the film plus three all-new movies featuring the adorable Minions, you also get a Blu-ray feature that allows you to jump back and turn on the subtitles for particularly heavily accented lines of Steve Carell's dialogue. You've gotta love a movie that recognizes and embraces its difficult-to-understand characters.

The Town (Extended Cut Blu-ray/DVD Combo)
Hopefully, the extended cut includes more of Jon Hamm's FBI agent looking exasperated and making snarky comments about the incompetence of those around him, and less of the bad stuff. Like the film's goofy-ass ending.

The A-Team
Apparently, I had too high expectations for this movie, which most found to be a pleasant romp, and I found to be insufferably dumb. I guess I'll give it another shot, with my normally high Liam Neeson hope levels adjusted for a post-Clash of the Titans world. (Also available via Movies on Demand.)

The Other Guys (2-Disc Blu-ray/DVD combo)
Sure to go down in the annals of history as the dawn of Mark Wahlberg's comedy career. Well, the dawn of his intentional comedy career. I've been laughing at him for years.

Nanny McPhee Returns
Known in the U.K. as Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, which is, of course, already the name of the American porn parody. (Also available via Movies on Demand.)

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (3-Disc Blu-ray/DVD combo)
Judging by the box-office success of this movie, all film titles should have as many nouns and prepositions as possible. Think how much Legend of Inception: The Science of Dreams would have made! (Also available via Movies on Demand, beginning Dec. 17.)
