With panic and cowardice firmly entrenched in Hollywood, remakes are the name of the game, as familiar concepts and past hits have taken the place of original ideas and new franchises. And while it occasionally produces a winner, very often the result is inferior to what's come before. Now, it's time for you to vote with your bruised and battered memories, in our first-annual Movies Without Pity Awards!

Was True Grit the best remake, or was it The Karate Kid? Was The Last Airbender the one that most failed to surpass its source material, or was that Yogi Bear? Vote right the first time, because in the MWoP Awards, there are no do-overs. Fresh categories will be available at the beginning of each week and the ultimate winners will be announced February 18.
