It's a veritable chick-flick apocalypse! Rom-com-aggedon! Estrogenocide!

The Movies Without Pity Awards: Thank You For Your Support, Actors

The Best Supporting Actor category is a proud tradition, shining the spotlight on those who weren't in the actual spotlight, but did their best to hold the movie together from the sidelines. That said, not every actor is very supporting -- some of them coast through their scenes, not feeling like they have to do much work, and some even distract the audience from the main action with their bizarre choices. To that end, we've given them two different categories in the inaugural Movies Without Pity Awards.

Cast your vote for "Best Supporting Actor" and "Worst Supporting Actor" all this week, in this final round of voting. You'll have until Sunday to vote on these categories and ten others before they close, and then we'll start tabulating -- the ultimate winners will be announced February 18! And don't forget to vote on Facebook, where you can weigh in on even more topics!

The Roommate: Terrible Movie, Awesome CW Supergroup

I'm kinda blown away by how much money The Roommate made this weekend. I mean, I know it had virtually no competition, was kind of a horror movie, starred two hot women and had almost no reviews due to the studio wisely refusing to screen it for critics. But still? Why did people see this? Is all of its $15 million gross due to sheer ironic viewing? When did people in Brooklyn get $15 million to spend on anything? And where were all of you when I needed you for Burlesque? Anyway, this movie's awful. Let's get into it.

Super Bowl 2011: The Best and Worst Movie Trailers

The Super Bowl is known for its commercials, but while a new Doritos ad can be hilarious, it isn't exactly news. What is news are the latest movie trailers for some of this year's biggest movies -- sometimes the first trailers ever released! We watched the whole game to make sure we didn't miss a movie (Mindy covers all the regular commercials here), and rated the best and worst -- read on for video and commentary!

The Movies Without Pity Awards: Separating the Best from the Wannabebest

The Academy Awards made headlines last year by announcing that they would be going back to having ten nominees for Best Picture. Well, we'll do them one better. Okay, ten better -- our Best Movie category in the Movies Without Pity Awards has over 20 nominees! Because why be a hater?

That said, we also have a category called "Most Yawn-Inducing Oscar Bait," because sometimes you have to be a hater. So whether you think The King's Speech is amazing or a genetically engineered awards juggernaut, you'll be able to cast your vote for it! You'll have a week to vote on these categories and ten others before they close, and don't forget to vote on Facebook, where you can weigh in on even more topics. This is our last week of voting -- the ultimate winners will be announced February 18!

The Movies Without Pity Awards: Overused Actor, Will You Please Go Now?

We're getting a little tired of Natalie Portman. With one comedy in theaters, a drama out today, and her popping up at every awards show to take home a statuette, it's a bit much for us to take. If only we could vote for her to be Most Overused Actress in this year's Movies Without Pity Awards!

It'll have to wait, because while Portman may be omnipresent this year, we're voting on 2010. Was last year's Most Overused Actress Katherine Heigl? Kristen Stewart? Angelina Jolie? What about actors? Jonah Hill? Josh Duhamel? Sam Worthington? You can vote in these two categories and nine others in this week's round of voting; fresh categories will be available on Monday, and the ultimate winners will be announced February 18. Sanctum: What Are You Trying to Prove, James Cameron?

As a movie about some people trying to overcome nature and escape a cave, Sanctum could have easily have made it to a cable network trying to present something a bit less whimsical than whatever SyFy was putting on that night. Based on the true and much less exciting story of documentary maker Andrew Wight, the movie tells the straightforward tale of a group of people stuck in a cave who must venture deeper into it to escape. As you might expect, the usual characters are here, from the hardened cave explorer Frank (Richard Roxburgh) who can't connect with his angry teenage son Josh (Rhys Wakefield) to the rich thrill-seeking sponsors of the expedition (Ioan Gruffudd and Alice Parkinson). With dialogue like, "There is no god down here!" the only thing keeping this movie from basic cable is producer James Cameron and his toys.

The Movies Without Pity Awards: What We Really Want to Do is Judge Directors

Is a good director one who you forget is there, because you're so immersed in the story unfolding on the screen? Or one who reminds you of why he's so awesome every five minutes with a montage or a jump cut or a sped-up scene? Whichever you believe, you can make your vote known in our first-annual Movies Without Pity Awards!

Aronofsky. Fincher. Hooper. Russell. Coen. The usual suspects. But what about Nolan? Boyle? Scorsese? Wright? Favreau? Vaughn? Granik? Affleck, for God's sake? Where are their nominations? Well, since we're the directors of this particular awards show, we said "the kid stays in the picture" and nominated them all! You can vote in this category and ten others in this week's round of voting; fresh categories will be available on Monday, and the ultimate winners will be announced February 18. Fletch Lives Again, But Who Should Star and Who Should Direct?

It's one of the great crimes of Hollywood that there was only one sequel to Chevy Chase's 1985 mystery-comedy Fletch, especially since there are actually nine books about reporter Irwin M. Fletcher, plus two about his son, and the sequel wasn't even based on any of them. One of Chase's greatest roles, Fletch was a charming, cocky chameleon, with a list of aliases as long as his arm and a snarky response always at the ready. After years of us dreading a Kevin Smith-directed reboot, Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to the character, and we're excited to think about who might take over the director's chair, not to mention the highly sought-after role. Ben Affleck, Jason Lee and Josh Jackson have all been attached in the past, but we've got our own set of nominees.

The Movies Without Pity Awards: They're Ready for Their Close-Ups

What separates the Best Actresses from the Worst Actresses? Is it as simple as getting good material? Or does the actress need to have the talent to back it up? After all, anyone can play a woman with multiple personalities, but how many can make it believable, and not like a bad Saturday Night Live sketch? We're drawing a line between the best from the worst in our first-annual Movies Without Pity Awards, and we need your help!

Best Actress has a lot of familiar faces -- Natalie, Anne, Jennifer, Nicole -- but also some faces the big awards shows forgot. Now's your chance to vote for them! Ditto the Worst Actresses of the Year -- Christina, Katherine, Kristen, Cameron -- who made you retch into your popcorn the most? You can vote for those two categories and nine others, in this week's round of voting. Fresh categories will be available at the beginning of each week and the ultimate winners will be announced February 18. Plus, we've created a Facebook app so you can share your votes with your friends!
