Julie & Julia is going to be great, not only because the effervescent Amy Adams is in it, but also because Meryl Streep somehow found a way to do a Julia Child impression that wasn't embarrassing. This is unprecedented. Which got me thinking about some of my favorite celebrity impersonations in film (not necessarily biopics, which are by and large the worst), and decided to put together a list of them. Which means it's ground-rules time.

Director Ridley Scott recently announced that he was about to begin work on a prequel to one of his most popular films, the sci-fi/horror/genre-defining movie Alien. While we can't deny that we'd love to see a good Alien movie, a prequel seems like the wrong way to go, since Sigourney Weaver's Ripley, the fan-favorite character from the series, couldn't be in it, and to show where exactly the xenomorphs come from would take all of the mystery out of them. We came up with a list of genre films that need prequels -- good ones -- more than Alien does, starting with another Ridley Scott film...

If anybody is planning on nominating Katherine Heigl for an award for her work in this new, fairly formulaic-looking rom-com, don't. She's just going to turn it down, because if she didn't think her Grey's Anatomy work was worthy of an Emmy nomination, then she can't possibly believe this familiar-sounding drivel is worthy of an Oscar, or a Golden Globe, or even a Dallas-Fort Worth Film Critics Award. Or maybe she does -- we've found a set diary that seems to be hers, and in it she gushes about the cleverness of the film and the creatives behind it. Still, we don't think she'll receive any nominations for the part, unless you count the Razzie, and we don't think you can turn those down anyway. Check out her secret Ugly Truth set diary here!

Apparently, the problem with movies based on video games isn't that they're never given the script attention and directorial skill that they deserve. No, apparently, the video games are just too new. Old video games have more nostalgic appeal, so more people will go to see them, right? That must be the thinking behind this latest bit of news, that Lorenzo Di Bonaventura will be producing an Asteroids movie, based on the video game about a ship that sits in the middle of the screen and blows up big asteroids, forming smaller and smaller asteroids. Considering that there were two big, competing asteroid movies about a decade ago, and two competing TV-movies about it this year, was it really worth the four-studio bidding war? Hell, is the word "asteroids" even copyrighted? Since we can't imagine what the film will bring to the table that we haven't seen already, we've come up with a list of classic video games that we're much more interested to see on the big screen.

So, you heard about this Facebook movie they're making, right? About the social networking site's rocky, apparently scandalous path to becoming the greatest thing since sliced bread? Well, apparently acclaimed director David Fincher is circling the project, which makes it sound a lot more interesting to us. Still, it's about the development and sale of a Website. Doesn't that sound kinda, I dunno, boring? Not like Flash of Genius "I invented the windshield wiper" boring, but maybe The Late Shift "who will host this TV show?" boring? Considering Fincher's body of work, there are a bunch more Facebook-related movie ideas we'd love to see him apply his talents to. Here are five.

My casting dreams came true this week when Chace Crawford was announced as Zac Efron's replacement in that completely necessary remake of Footloose we're getting. Since this is irrefutable proof that I am psychic, I thought I'd toss out some other random '80s movies the Gossip Girl kids will most definitely be remaking in the near future. Because why let the rest of the decade's pop culture go by unbastardized, you know? Oh, and remember -- the theme is '80s movies. Say Blair should remake Breakfast at Tiffany's in the comments and you will be ridiculed. Alright, let's go, people! It's fan fiction time!

I know I'm pretty much alone on this, but I have to admit that I'm a Night at the Museum apologist. People like to rip on this franchise a lot, and they're not wrong -- it ain't high art, or high comedy, and it doesn't even remotely try to be historically accurate or believable in any way -- but, to be frank, whatever. I think the first movie is fun for what it is, and I enjoy it every time I watch it for its stellar cast and shiny effects. I'd rather save my knee-jerk hatred for things like Paul Blart and Dance Flick, is what I'm saying. And while the previous installment was a heist movie, this one promises to be a battle! At the Smithsonian! I am so in! And I don't even know who's fighting who or what they're even fighting about! Which doesn't matter much -- I suspect a great reason for the battle won't even be given during the film, but nevertheless let's take a look at the new army and see where they fall in battle usefulness.

The Interweb is all abuzz today with news of a Father Knows Best movie in the works at Fox/New Regency. Will the new script dissect the show's oft-criticized paternalism, or skew its overly-rosy view of American life? Nope -- it's going to have a wacky grandpa! Apparently the original plot is going by the wayside in favor of a new dad fighting with his more conservative, live-in father over parenting style, which sounds just hilarious. After all, it's easy to remake these classic TV shows as movies, right? Hmmm... Read on to relive the worst '50-'60s TV reboots ever to appear on the silver screen, and take a gander at some remake ideas we'd rather sit through...

Jason Statham is a force of nature. Whether he's behind the wheel of a car, running flat-out down a city street or having sex with Amy Smart on a mailbox, the man can do anything and look good doing it. And after watching him punch, kick and drive through three Transporter movies, two Cranks and one unfortunate Uwe Boll film, we've started to mentally insert him into other gritty, high-octane movies of the past, usually in the place of other, less-intense actors. He was great in the reinvented Death Race, so why not let him Statham up some other action classics? Here are ten we'd like to see.

Now, being a semi-literate, heterosexual male, I didn't see Twilight. I mean, I wanted to, but I knew they were making a sequel, so I figured I had time to see the first one before the second came out. But now, all of a sudden, I'm seeing commercials for the new one, and it opens this weekend! It's been what, a few months since Twilight came out? I mean, I knew they were fast-tracking the thing, but this is ridiculous! I want to go see the new one, but I still only know the basic elements of the first, so I'm not even totally sure what's going on here, but this is what I think is going on in Twilight 2: Adventureland.
