Public Enemies: Depp and Bale's Dueling Set Diaries

While Christian adores the Minuet, the Ballet Russe and fucking professionalism, our Johnny loves to rock and roll; a Tim Burton project makes him lose control. What a wild duet! But they're co-stars, less-than-identical co-stars in Michael Mann's new shoot-em-up, and their approaches to acting couldn't be more different. Check out their personal set diaries from the Public Enemies here!

Transformers 2: Electric-Car Boogaloo

Transformers 2: Electric-Car Boogaloo

It's a well-known fact to anyone within earshot of my office that I didn't like the first Transformers movie. In addition to an apparent hatred of the original cartoon, I thought it showed a hatred of humanity, from the robot characters' utter disregard for human lives to the human characters' lack of anything resembling real emotion to, yes, the peeing-on-John-Turturro incident. (No, I will not let it go. John Turturro is a national treasure.) So seeing all of the cool-looking new robots in the trailer for Revenge of the Fallen (Devastator! Ravage! The Fallen!) has my insides churning like Devastator's sand-hole. Could it possibly be good, thereby redeeming the original film and, in fact, the entire Michael Bay film library in my eyes? Doubtful. But the robots certainly look awesome. We gathered as much information as we could about the new robots and got some updates on the four returning primaries for a gallery we like to call Robot Roll Call! Check it out here, and let us know what you think of the movie below.

Land of the Lost vs. Lost: Which Came First?

Land of the Lost vs. Lost: Which Came First?

When we used to watch the Land of the Lost TV show as children, we thought it was the greatest TV show ever made. (Shows what we knew.) Now, with the big-budget movie remake stalking theaters, we're noticing that it bears more than a slight resemblance to what we currently think of as one of the greatest TV shows ever made -- one that's also about time travel and monsters and scientists. That's right, we're talking about Lost. Could the creators of Lost have been inspired by the original 1970s Land of the Lost TV series? Or did a VHS tape of Lost fall down a wormhole and end up inspiring Sid and Marty Krofft back in the 1970s? We compare the movie and the two shows to try and piece together the timeline in our Land of the Lost vs. Lost Gallery!

Star Trek: Two Live Crews Face Off

Star Trek: Two Live Crews Face Off

Ever since they began revealing the fresh-faced young Enterprise crew and their Macbook-looking bridge, we've been worried about J.J. Abrams' new Star Trek movie. Would it pay tribute to the classic show that had come before it, and manage to simultaneously honor and ignore the easily enraged fan base? As more and more trailers and clips surface, and reports roll in from the privileged few who've seen it, the answer seems to be "yes." With some notable exceptions, the Enterprise crew is the spitting image of the crew that came before, and we compared each and every crew member to their predecessor to make sure. Check out our guide to the Past and Present Casts of Star Trek, and let us know what you think of the movie below!

Get to Know the Mutants of X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Get to Know the Mutants of X-Men Origins: Wolverine

This Friday, the latest big-budget superhero movie hits theaters, and... well, a bunch of people have already seen it, thanks to a leaked bootleg copy, minus a lot of special effects. We haven't seen the bootleg ourselves -- and if we did, we certainly wouldnt tell anybody about it -- but we've seen enough trailers and teaser footage to give us a pretty good idea of what's going on. Plus, we've read enough X-Men comics to choke an industrial paper shredder, which makes us highly qualified to create a field guide to the super-powered mutants who will be popping up (and popping claws) in the latest X-movie. Only a few have been seen on the big screen before, and even they may not be so familiar anymore, as they're played by different actors. Check out all the new faces in out X-Men Origins: Wolverine gallery!

Summer Movie Preview: MWoP's Guides to Action, Drama, Sci-Fi and Horror

Summer is almost here! You may disagree with us, saying June is still over a month a away, but Hollywood would disagree with you. The summer movie season starts May 1, with the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and it doesn't let up until August! Because we know it's so hard to keep track of what's coming out when, we've begun creating our hand-dandy photo guides to the big releases, starting with one guide for Action and Drama movies, and one for the Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror genres. Check them both out, and check back next week for our guide to comedies of both the romantic and non-romantic varieties!

Oscar Coverage Round-Up!

Oscar Coverage Round-Up!

Last night, the TWoP staff were busy little beavers, building damns (and other mild cuss words) to create the snarkiest coverage of the Oscars to be found on the Internet. Not only did we Liveblog the entire event, commenting on each and every moment of the show worth noting, we also have a guide to the Best and Worst Moments! Fashion your thing? Or maybe just making fun of what people are wearing? Then check out our gallery of the Best and Worst Fashions of the night! It's breathtakingly judgmental and resplendent! And, of course, to simply see who won everything without the snark, click here.

Watchmen: Watch and Learn

Watchmen: Watch and Learn

Watchmania is upon us! The world has reached its saturation point with three trailers, nine movie clips and 20-odd posters promoting the upcoming Watchmen film (due out March 6), and the storyline seems more confusing than ever. If you haven't read the comics the movie is based on, all you know is that there's guys in costume running around and acting all serious. Well, we decided to put together a little guide to the world and characters of Watchmen for those who just want to know what the hell it's about and who in the hell these people are. In fact, we've titled it Watchmen: Just Who in the Hell Are They, Anyway? Check it out, and let us know what you think in the comments below.

We'd Like to Thank the Academy: New Oscar Section Goes Live

We'd Like to Thank the Academy: New Oscar Section Goes Live

The Oscars are rapidly approaching on February 22, and we've created a sweet Oscar section on the site full of galleries celebrating the upcoming ceremonies, as well as looking at Oscar moments from previous Academy Awards events. (Hey, did you ever notice that while the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences defines "academy" to mean "a society of artists," most Hollywood movies define it as "a school where wacky hjinks occur"? See: Police Academy, Snowboard Academy, Ninja Academy and Stripper Academy. Wait -- on second thought, don't see Stripper Academy.) Check back on Oscar night, and we'll have a liveblog of the ceremony as well as lists of winners as they're announced. And if you want to see who we think is going to win this year's Academy Awards (and who we want to win), check out our Picks and Predictions gallery. (If you want to see who we think is going to win the Police Academy Awards, we'll just tell you. It's totally gonna be Steve Guttenberg.)

Oscar Snubs: It Was a Dishonor for Them Not to be Nominated

Oscar Snubs: It Was a Dishonor for Them Not to be Nominated

Every year, the Academy Awards categories are announced, and the praise is heaped on the nominees. But what about those actors, writers, directors and films that are left out? Where is their praise? Where are their small, naked statues? Considering how good a year 2008 was for movies, there were plenty that we here at MWoP felt were unfairly passed over for Oscar nominations. (Sure, some of them won Golden Globes or SAG Awards, but do those count, really?) Check out our list of those who were forgotten in our Oscar Snubs Gallery!
