I Want My DVD: Tuesday, May 25, 2010

Dear Channing Tatum. Your first name is a last name. Could you change it? Stockard Channing is quite upset about the situation. And yes, we're writing to her about her first name next.

Dear John
Ever notice that Amanda Seyfried makes a lot of movies where she's sending and receiving letters? The U.S. Postal Service should consider hiring her as a spokesperson. Or just put her on a stamp -- stamp collecting as a hobby would skyrocket. After all, we're sure there's a sizable percentage of the population out there who would like to lick Amanda Seyfried. More than want to lick Gene Autry, we're willing to wager. (Also available via Movies on Demand.)

The Road
The Seann William Scott and Breckin Meyer movie Road Trip would have been much more satisfying if the characters in that film had been traveling through a post-apocalyptic America populated by violent cannibals. Although, when the cross-country trip is fraught with that much peril, getting back that sex tape you accidentally sent your girlfriend just doesn't seem so important anymore.

Mystery Team
Donald Glover as a member of a team of now-grown-up child detectives? As fans of both Community and Encyclopedia Brown, consider us there.

Tell Tale
We're normally wary of anyone tinkering with an Edgar Allan Poe plot, but if it gets Josh Lucas a heart transplant and hooks him up with Lena Headey, we'll allow it.

My Dog: An Unconditional Love Story
Richard Belzer, Edie Falco, Richard Gere and other celebrities tell us about their dogs in this feature-length documentary. Finally, a way to keep track of an aspect of celebrity life that US Weekly barely touches on!

Also out this week:
Ondine Colin Farrell is dating a mermaid. Also, he recently made this movie.
Babysitter Wanted This is either a gruesome horror film, or the worst classified ad ever.
Rain Fall Please, let this Gary Oldman movie be a sequel to Black Rain. We need good news.
