I Want My DVD: Tuesday, December 28, 2010

In a college dorm somewhere, a Resident Advisor has put her head on this movie's poster and modified the title in an attempt to seem cool. It will fail.

Resident Evil: Afterlife
Hopefully you have the capabilities to play the 3-D Blu-ray, because otherwise you're going to be stuck with the less visually dazzling version of the fourth installment in an increasingly silly series of movies in which Milla Jovovich kills zombies and giant video-game monstrosities, and saves random people from certain death only to deliver them into highly probable death. Although the image of two Milla Jovoviches karate-kicking zombie dogs through windows is a treat even in 2-D.

The American
What does it mean to be an American? To kill without remorse? To enrage the Swedes? To patronize Italian prostitutes? To build weapons and sell them to strangers? If this movie, starring George Clooney as an assassin lying low in an Italian village, is any indication, then yes. All are correct.

Legendary,
John Cena plays a wrestler, Patricia Clarkson collects a paycheck and Danny Glover is too old for this shit in this wrestling take on The Karate Kid.

Twelve
If you've always wished that Gossip Girl had more drugs, more Chace Crawford, less intelligent writing and a 50 Cent appearance, then this movie is for you.

Handsome Harry
Jamey Sheridan proves that he's more than just a Law & Order police captain in this film about a Vietnam vet who confronts what he and his buddies (Steve Buscemi, Aidan Quinn) did to one of their own (Campbell Scott).

And Soon the Darkness
When two girls go on vacation to Argentina and one goes missing, the other hires Karl Urban to help find out who took her, as well as who came up with that terrible title.

Also Out This Week:
Legacy (with Idris Elba!), The Boy Next Door (with Cory Monteith and Dina Meyer!), Spin (with Katie Cassidy and Amber Heard!), The Killer Robots and the Battle for the Cosmic Potato (actual title!).
