Trailer Previews: Death Kisses, Dark Knight and Keanu Barada Nikto A handful of trailers and other filmic appetizers have come out for the holiday weekend, hoping to grab their share of movie-goers' attention some time between the third round of hotdogs and passing out on the sofa. You could hoist yourself up and head out to see a new release in the theater, during which you might see some of these new trailers, but sit back and relax. I've got them right here, within easy reach of your antacids and favorite pillow.

Someone somewhere probably needs to be punched in the eye for deciding to remake the 1951 sci-fi classic, The Day the Earth Stood Still. In the original, the words "Klaatu barada nikto" were uttered to keep a powerful robot from destroying Earth. Too bad there wasn't a similar phrase to keep them from cranking out this movie. But what's done is done, and the remake will land in theaters this December. You can see the trailer now and get your jokes ready well in advance of the release: "Is Keanu Reeves playing the expressionless robot?" "Did they hire him because his name reminded them of Klaatu?" "If I showed up on Earth for the first time and they made me go on The Moment of Truth, I'd blow it up, too."

Here's someone who did get punched in the eye, by the looks of it: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. He's Empire's latest cover wizard. USA Today also has preview pics, along with comments from producer David Baron and director David Yates. It really makes you realize how quickly time flies when you see little Harry Potter with razor burn, doesn't it? The story has a lot to do with romance and love potions, and Yates describes a first kiss being interrupted when "the bloody Death Eaters turn up and cause all sorts of anarchy." Sounds about right for a first kiss.

If that's not up your alley, then check out The Dark Knight, which has now revealed its thirteenth -- yes, thirteenth -- clip. Don't be thrown by the voiceover at the beginning. I think it's just a Swedish reporter wondering how many more clips need to be released before people can string together the entire movie.
