So unless you're living in a cave somewhere, by now you've heard the recording of Christian Bale's rant last year on the set of Terminator: Salvation where he goes off on director of photography Shane Hurlbut for allegedly distracting him during filming. (Audio is here, but it's definitely NSFW unless you work some place really laid back about cussing.) By now you've probably also seen everyone weigh in on how awful and/or awesome it was, or how right or wrong it was, so this isn't really about that. No, the thing of more interest to me is what new and/or enlightening information can be learned if you listen closely enough.

Either way, there's more Terminator on the way, in the form of a fifth movie. That's right, the movie after next May's Terminator: Salvation has already been greenlit.

Like much of the country commenting on the most recent Presidential debate, The Dark Knight screenwriter David Goyer is calling bullshit. Specifically on all the rumors swirling about Batman 3 (wouldn't that be Batman 3.2?). So, according to Goyer, that means:

- Christopher Nolan has not signed on.

- Pre-production will not start next year.

- Any and all of the casting rumors you've heard, from Cher or Angelina Jolie as Catwoman to Johnny Depp as the Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin, nothing you've heard is true. Furthermore, there hasn't yet been talk of villains for the next film, much less casting work.

McG speaks! The inaugural post in the Terminator: Salvation blog has been posted, along with an artist's conception of post-apocalyptic Los Angeles where the film is set. The artwork is far from intriguing, except to note it features the latest indignity perpetrated on the Capitol Records building. It always seems like, whenever the cinematic Apocalypse shows up, the Four Horsemen make a beeline for the Capitol Records building. Those Four Dudes may be upset with their record deals, but Terminator fans are far more upset that a fourth installment of the series is being mounted without its creator or stars. The Terminator without Ah-nold or tough as nails "Seer-uh Conn-uh" is not a Terminator movie, no matter who they cast in the lead.

Riddle me this, riddle me that -- who can possibly defeat the big, bad Bat? Not Brendan Fraser, Jet Li, three yetis and an army of zombies, that's for sure. The Dark Knight topped the box office for the third week in a row, bringing in an additional $43.8 million, for a grand total so far of 394.9 million in the U.S. alone -- plus $200 million overseas. And the film has yet to open in Germany and Russia. That's Bruce Wayne folding money, son! Sadly, Batman will be defeated next weekend by the combined forces of the Green Hornet (Seth Rogen) and the Green Goblin (James Franco) in the stoner action flick Pineapple Express. C'est la vie!
