Like much of the country commenting on the most recent Presidential debate, The Dark Knight screenwriter David Goyer is calling bullshit. Specifically on all the rumors swirling about Batman 3 (wouldn't that be Batman 3.2?). So, according to Goyer, that means:
- Christopher Nolan has not signed on.
- Pre-production will not start next year.
- Any and all of the casting rumors you've heard, from Cher or Angelina Jolie as Catwoman to Johnny Depp as the Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin, nothing you've heard is true. Furthermore, there hasn't yet been talk of villains for the next film, much less casting work.
A sequel to The Invisible Man is in the works, according to ShockTillYouDrop.com. I'm not talking about the similarly-titled Chevy Chase movie from 1992, or any of the series that have been popping up on TV every few years since the 1950s. No, this is going to be a sequel to the original movie based on the H.G. Wells story that your great-grandparents saw in the theaters three-quarters of a century ago. Man, and I thought twenty-five years was a long time to wait for a Tron follow-up.
My self-imposed ban on stories about vampires and/or werewolves is officially over, because... well, because I found some cool news about werewolves and vampires. It seems that the upcoming Wolfman movie is only the first in a series of films designed to bring back the classic "Universal Monsters" of old, and both Dracula and the Invisible Man are slated for new film incarnations: a prequel and a sequel, respectively. In other news, there will also be a Mummy 4... but let's move on.
