With the release of the movie Pirate Radio happening this week, and all of the crazy trailer footage of Philip Seymour Hoffman, Billy Nighy and Nick Frost as loose cannon radio personalities in the swingin' 60s, we got to thinking about our favorite fictitious DJs in movie history, and decided to make a little list of them all. A couple of these are cheating on the "fictitious" front, but c'mon -- like there's ever been much truth in the business of biopics anyway? Paul: Close Encounters of the Lewd KindSimon Pegg and Nick Frost are like the geek community's Laurel and Hardy. After Spaced, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, putting them together in a movie -- even without Edgar Wright at the helm -- is like mixing up a batch of nerd Kool-Aid, and we're all gonna drink it. But while the Greg Mottola-directed Paul is packed with plenty of references to comic books, Comic-Con and science fiction, it's also a raunchfest worthy of the Superbaddirector. So if you're a nerd who likes dick jokes, you'll be McLovin' it, but otherwise it's just a fun road trip comedy that somehow manages to be less than the sum of its parts. Think of it as Fanboys with two Brits and an alien, and minus Kristen Bell.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost Say 'Oui' to TintinWhile some people were excited to see Titanic duo Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio teaming up again for Revolutionary Road, some of us were eagerly waiting for another big movie pair-up... for Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, co-stars of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Not only will they buddy up again as comic book geeks for 2010's Paul (which the two also wrote) but they've also just been confirmed for Steven Spielberg's big-screen adaptation of Belgian artist Hergé's comic strips, The Adventures of Tintin. The two will play Thompson and Thompson, a pair of bumbling detectives who will be showing up earlier in than they did in Hergé's work, where they first stumbled onto the scene in Tintin's fourth adventure.
