A multitude of new video clips, trailers, set photos and posters have leaked out over the weekend for various upcoming films, and this is your one stop to find it all.
Downey & Law, Crimefighters: First up, JustJared published photos on Friday of Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes from Guy Ritchie's upcoming action film. He added photos on Sunday of Jude Law as Watson. They both look as dashing as you might imagine, all scruffy and in their period garb.
Have you ever seen those "WWJD?" bracelets or bumper stickers and wondered, "What would Jesus really do?" Well, at long last, I've found the answer to the question that has weighed on the minds of philosophers, theologians and crafty religious merchandisers alike. As it turns out, Jesus would go to Comic-Con. Jesus Christ, like many other superstars in "the biz", will be out promoting his movie at the multimedia convention in San Diego later this month.
Four Christmases somehow managed to stay at the top of the box office for a second week in a row, while Twilight actually moved up the chart, from number three last week to number two. How ever did that happen? Oh, right, virtually nothing opened this weekend in wide release except for a comic book sequel with a very limited fanbase, Punisher: War Zone (which made only $4 million to come in eighth).
Hell hath no fury like comic book fans scorned. A recent post at LatinoReview.com caused all manner of angry response and controversy. Seems Lionsgate Films were continuing their current trend of pissing off gorehounds by forcing the director of the upcoming Punisher reboot to deliver a PG-13 rated cut. This after the folks at Comic Con got a decidedly R-rated preview of the upcoming film. Rumors flew like tennis balls at a Williams sisters match: director Lexi Alexander had been fired, the movie was horrible, the movie was butchered by the MPAA, etc. The one thing that appears to be true is that the film exists. After two previous misfires, I question why people are hoping this movie will give them what they finally want. Is the third time the charm?
