Hellboy II: The Golden Army is probably the most buzzed-about and hotly anticipated of any movie whose prequel made less than $100 million at the box office. There are a couple of reasons for that: Those moviegoers who did see the first one loved it -- even most critics. And it's from Guillermo del Toro, the brilliant filmmaking mind behind Pan's Labyrinth and the future The Hobbit feature.
It doesn't hurt that Hellboy is played as a marvelously oafish superhero by Ron Perlman. And those viral sites and the recent series of promotional videos couldn't hurt in drawing in any stragglers who weren't already on the Hellboy bandwagon. (My favorite is this one starring Chuck from Chuck.)
But they're all hilarious and wonderful in their own way. And then there's the actual movie trailer, which has Hellboy at his snarky best and effects and creatures that look like they could have come straight out of Pan's Labyrinth. It looks like it has the best of everything: comedy, action, effects and that big red demony-looking guy you can't help but love.
