I'm not sure how to react to a movie title like Midnight Meat Train. I don't even know where to begin on what it might mean or be about. In fact, I can't even begin to guess what genre it might be. Then I see that it has taglines such as "Next stop ... death" and "The most terrifying ride you'll ever take," and I instantly realize at least two things: 1. It's a horror flick. 2. It's going to be stupid. But it stars Bradley Cooper and it is a horror flick, so stupid doesn't have to mean it won't be enjoyable, right?
Here's what I gather from the trailer: Bradley's a photographer taking pictures of the city. Brooke Shields tells him to keep shooting, so he goes into a creepy dark subway at night and, just as he's taking pictures of a cute young thing, someone apparently slaughters her. Bradley runs away and his girlfriend tells him to go to the cops. The cops maybe accuse him of stalking the girl, but it's not clear why. The body's apparently missing so it's not being treated like a murder. Then it keeps happening, and Bradley figures out that whichever girl he follows in to the subway is the one the murderer will kill. Solution sounds simple enough, right? Stop following ladies into the subway! But no, instead he is going to take on the murderer alone, and possibly using his girlfriend as bait. Wise decision.
I already acknowledge the concept is pretty stupid, but if you're into this type of movie, it looks truly creepy. And what more can you ask for from a horror movie anyway?
