Were you wondering what ever happened to Josh Hartnett? I mean, remember back when he used to be the next big thing. Sure, he did 30 Days of Night last year, but he hasn't had a bona fide hit movie since probably Sin City -- and that was in 2005. Don't worry about Josh, though; he's apparently cornering the market on headlining movies no one's ever heard of. Take August, for instance.
It stars Josh as a successful business man named Tom Sterling. (Although, in the trailer, everyone keeps calling him "Landshark." Or maybe that's the name of his company? It's really difficult to tell). He's so rich that when someone mentions $1 million to him, he says, presumably talking about his net worth, "Add two zeroes." Wow. That's intense. However, the bubble bursts and his company is threatened with financial ruin unless he gets it back in the black within a month. Luckily, he knows money, so he'll totally be able to save it, right?
It's a little hard to buy Josh Hartnett as a corporate genius, but the movie has a cast of great character-actor types (and one rock star): Zooey Deschanel, Rip Torn, Adam Scott, and said rock star David Bowie. There's also a guy in the trailer you see once in passing who says one sentence. I kept pausing and rewinding trying to figure out who that clean-cut, sort of geeky black guy in glasses was and then it hit me: It's Bubbles! And you didn't read that wrong: I said clean-cut. Clearly, the man can act.
