From the minds behind nearly every spoof of the last ten years (Scary Movie, Date Movie, Epic Movie, etc.) comes another one: Disaster Movie. Tag line: "The last man on Earth is not alone." Which is probably the most clever thing about this movie, judging by the trailer. It makes fun of (or is that "pays homage to"? I can't be certain) Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Hannah Montana, Enchanted, Hancock, Sex and the City, Juno, and Lars and the Real Girl, if the main character carrying around a blow-up doll is any indication. I'm guessing there will be a little I Am Legend somewhere in there, too.
More than anything, though, the trailer and promotion for this movie just makes me wonder: Are there really people going to see these movies? And enough people to warrant the continual production of these atrocities? If there are, I am truly ashamed of us. And by "us" I mean "you," because I stopped watching these movies as of Scary Movie (the first one, for those keeping count), so I'm not to blame.
