Dostana You know how so many people have pretended to be gay, but no one's ever made a movie about their plight? How difficult it is for them to be straight in a gay world? Dostana finally answers the call for this important "message" film about two guys pretending to be gay, and the girl caught in the middle, possibly pretending to be their beard. It's hard to tell what's going on from the trailer, because it's really nothing more than a music video, all techno music blaring and sexy bodies and dancing around and scenes of sunny Miami.

Apparently the premise of this Bollywood film is that these two guys pretend to be a gay couple in order to rent the apartment they both want. But then the fall in love with the landlord's niece, who thinks they're gay [Ed's note: So this is like exactly the same movie as I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, only with Indian actors?? -- Lauren]. This is being touted as the first Bollywood film to feature a gay relationship -- and it's a fake relationship. Not exactly progressive, is it? I guess they have to start somewhere. But living in this country, with actual well-done, well-made, nuanced gay cinema, I wouldn't think we'd need to see this movie. I know I don't.
