Syd says that DMG has a meet planned with Rohmer, but they don't know when. They need to locate Rohmer's base of operations, get inside the place, and wire it with cameras. "So you can monitor him and wait for [DMG] to get in contact," says Sloane wryly. "I understand. This is your first lead, isn't it, Sydney?" Syd doesn't respond, but it's obvious that it is her first lead. Sloane goes on to say that he totally gets what she's doing, but revenge is ultimately a hollow pursuit. He should know, having invented the definition of the word. Syd says it isn't about revenge. "They know who I am, they know where I work," she grits. "And as long as they're out there, I am not safe." The rest of that line, "and neither is my child," seems to have been left out of the episode itself, even though it appeared in the previews. Too bad. I thought it was a stronger ending than "I am not safe."
Sloane tells Syd that Rohmer operates out of Amsterdam. And yes, I wish I were there right now instead of at my laptop recapping this shite. Perhaps I need to drink more. I had a shipment of Glaswegian virgin ale arrive this morning and I think this is the perfect time to crack that baby open. Ewan? EWAN! You can call your wife in the morning, okay? Tonight, WE DRINK. And tell Dougray to get his arse in here! I haven't had a celebrity guest in ages and this episode is sucking so much that I honestly believe now is the time to reintroduce the trend. Slàinte!
Sloane says that a tactical entry is impossible because Rohmer's paranoid; they'll have to go in posing as buyers. He tells Syd that there's a vending machine on some random Amsterdam street where someone will have to enter the number sequence "51094" and that shortly thereafter, they'll be contacted via public phone. Weiss performs this task and picks up a ringing phone, setting up the meet. Dix is on hand, acting as the money man. As he gets out of his limo, dressed in what appears to be a yellow leather outfit (hee!), Sloane's voice-over tells us that Rohmer's security system is capable of picking up bugs, so their best option is to piggyback off Rohmer's closed circuit feeds.
